There's a lot of stuff on the internet, and many of us know that every time you work in the online space, differentiation from everything and everyone else is key.
Smartest is a set of tools to make this easier.
For the same reason homemade bread is always better than the store-bought kind, Smartest is about giving you a space to do things your way - giving you exactly what you envisioned only hours earlier.
There are many products out there that provide a fixed, primitive content structure, and a theme based layout engine which makes you dependent on other people's ideas.
That's fine, but it's not what Smartest is about.
When you develop websites using Smartest, it's up to you to shape how content is created and edited, using a standardized but widely varied set of inputs.
More importantly however, you also decide, using templates, exactly how this information is displayed and used on web pages.
And we're not talking babyish "themes" either. Why should you be forced to edit someone else's work to suit your needs?
Creative people almost always prefer to start with a proverbial blank canvas, even if they later incorporate the work of others.
Smartest is designed to help you embrace that freedom to do things your way.
The new version of Smartest (version 0.4) is actually our fourth major release of Smartest.
If you click around it, you'll only see a fully-featured, stable system that would normally be worthy of a much higher version number, but despite that there's a reason why we don't want to go past 1.0 yet.
A 1.0 version number in our minds says "yes, we are ready for you to think of this this as a complete product," and yet to us this is still just the beginning.
So 0.4 may seem low, but it makes total sense if you look at what our plans are for 1.0 and beyond.
Rather than patronise you with nice round version numbers, we've used a more modest version numbering system to reflect what our honest aspirations are for Smartest as a platform.
